If you're on at least Android 9 which released in 2018, you can block nearly all ads by changing one quick setting in the Settings app.

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Press on 'Network and Internet'
  3. Press on 'Private DNS'
  4. Set the private DNS provider hostname to dns.adguard.com
  5. Disable and re-enable your network connection, or restart your device

This will work for most in-app advertisements and when you're navigating through your phone web browser, although it won't block YouTube advertisements. To do that - you'll want to install YouTube Revanced and MicroG available here.
